Reverse description Central field bears the Chinese characters for Hong Kong and One Cent (香港一仙) arranged in a square block formation, read in traditional right-to-left, top-to-bottom order. The date 1877 is inscribed along the lower periphery in Latin numerals, flanked by the English legend ONE CENT. The upper periphery carries the inscription HONG-KONG with decorative stops, while small floral or dot ornaments separate the elements at the sides. The overall design is clean and well-balanced, combining Chinese and Latin scripts in a manner characteristic of British colonial coinage for Hong Kong.
