Obverse description The obverse features a laureate draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon in the style characteristic of his bun-head portraits. The Queen's hair is elaborately dressed, gathered at the nape with a ribbon, and adorned with a wreath of laurel leaves. A floral spray is visible at the truncation of the bust. The peripheral legend is separated by raised dots and reads VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D:, and the field is framed by a toothed border.
