Obverse description The coat of arms of the British North Borneo Chartered Company displayed centrally in the field, featuring a heraldic shield supported by two standing native figures, one on either side, each depicted barefoot and bare-chested. Above the shield, a lion passant is surmounted by a flag. Below the arms, a ribbon scroll bears the company motto in Latin. The entire composition is rendered in high relief consistent with a piedfort striking, with the legend encircling the periphery.
