| 备注 |
Tradewell Stores was a Pacific Northwest supermarket chain that operated primarily in Washington State. Like many American retailers in the early 1960s, Tradewell issued small-denomination paper scrip as promotional change-maker tokens — a practical response to the chronic coin shortage that plagued U.S. retail commerce during that period. These pieces circulated only within the issuing stores and had no redemption value elsewhere.
The chain was eventually absorbed into Safeway's operations. Surviving scrip is common enough that condition matters more than scarcity.
