Beschrijving voorzijde	The arms of Belize rendered in high relief occupy the central field, depicting a quartered shield supported by two woodcutters and surmounted by a mahogany tree, all enclosed within a wreath of olive branches. The country name BELIZE is inscribed as an upper legend along the scalloped rim, while the date 1985 appears in the lower field beneath the arms. A fine beaded circle frames the central devices, following the contour of the twelve-notched scalloped flan. The motto SUB UMBRA FLOREO is displayed on a scroll at the base of the arms.

Beschrijving keerzijde	Two swallow-tailed kites (Elanoides forficatus) are depicted in dynamic flight, their deeply forked tails and pointed wings rendered with naturalistic detail against a plain field. The denomination 1 CENT is inscribed as the central legend, with the birds arranged symmetrically to either side. A beaded circle borders the design, conforming to the scalloped outline of the planchet. The overall composition is clean and uncluttered, characteristic of the Franklin Mint's proof wildlife series for Belize.
