Obverse description Central design featuring a boat anchor overlaid with the prow of a sloop, the two motifs combined to form a bold composite device occupying the majority of the field. The central group is flanked and enclosed by a wreath of laurel branches that curves along the inner edge of the coin, terminating at the base with a tied bow. The overall composition is deeply struck with fine relief detail throughout.

Reverse description A radiate head facing the viewer, depicted in high relief at centre, surrounded by broad sunburst rays that extend outward to fill the entire field. The numeral '1', representing the denomination, appears prominently to the left of the effigy in large incuse-style lettering, the rays continuing behind it. The design is strongly reminiscent of euro cent pattern coinage, executed in a bold and stylised artistic manner.
