Obverse description Allegorical female figure seated at center, surrounded by the denomination and the legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE arranged around the periphery. The central hole is incorporated into the design, typical of holed coinage of this series. The composition reflects the classical Republican allegory style employed by engraver Dupuis, with careful attention to decorative border elements framing the central motif. The mintmark appears in the exergue below the central design.
