Obverse lettering REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE 1 CENT A
(Translation: French Republic)
Reverse description The reverse features four large Chinese characters arranged around a central round hole, reading 百分之一 (one hundredth), enclosed within a beaded circle. The legend INDO-CHINE FRANÇAISE arcs along the outer periphery in Latin script. The date 1911 appears in the lower exergue below the beaded border, flanked by decorative dots. The overall composition is plain and deliberately legible, suited to the bilingual requirements of French Indochinese colonial coinage.
