| 备注 |
Neys was a Class IV prisoner of war camp on the north shore of Lake Superior, operated primarily to hold German U-boat officers and other high-ranking military prisoners. The Canadian government permitted camp canteens to issue their own scrip rather than allow prisoners access to official currency — partly for security, partly to prevent accumulation of money that might fund escape attempts. These canteen tokens and notes circulated only within the wire.
The Neys scrip is among the rarer Canadian PoW issues. The camp held a relatively small prisoner population, which kept total scrip volumes low.
