| 备注 |
Private scrip issued by a single retail grocery operation in New York City. American supermarket scrip of this type was typically used as change tender or promotional currency during coin shortages — most acutely during the 1974–1975 cent shortage, when retailers across the northeastern United States briefly issued their own fractional paper to avoid making change in small coins.
Survival rate for single-store grocery scrip is low. These notes were redeemed quickly, discarded, or simply worn to illegibility in apron pockets and cash drawers.
