| 表面の説明 | The obverse features a right-facing portrait bust of President Abraham Lincoln, modeled after a life mask by sculptor Leonard Volk and engraved by Victor David Brenner. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed in an arc along the upper periphery, while the legend LIBERTY appears to the left of the effigy and the date, accompanied by an optional mint mark, is positioned to the lower right. On early issues, the designer's initials VDB appear on Lincoln's truncated shoulder. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the hair and clothing, conveying a dignified and realistic likeness consistent with the medallic tradition of the early twentieth century. |
