| Opis awersu | Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George VI, modelled by Thomas Humphrey Paget, occupies the central field. The king is portrayed in a restrained, unadorned style consistent with Paget's canonical portrait used throughout the British Commonwealth. The engraver's initials 'HP' appear incuse at the base of the neck truncation. The circumferential Latin legend reads 'GEORGIVS VI D:G: REX ET IND:IMP:' and is separated from the effigy by a wide flat field, with a beaded border encircling the entire obverse. |

| Opis rewersu | The central device depicts two conjoined maple leaves on a common stem, rendered in fine naturalistic detail by designer George Kruger Gray. The engraver's monogram 'K·G' is positioned to the right of the stem in the lower field. A uniform beaded border frames the entire reverse design. |
