The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the crown's arches, crosses, and beading. The circumferential legend reads KING GEORGE THE SIXTH, arranged around the periphery with a toothed border encircling the entire obverse field. |

The large numeral '1' occupies the central field, enclosed within a raised circle of closely-spaced beads. Surrounding this inner bead circle, the inscription SEYCHELLES appears at the top and ONE CENT at the bottom, with the date 1948 divided on either side, all separated by small decorative rosette stops. The entire design is framed by a continuous toothed border along the rim. |
