Popis rubu	Central round hole pierces the field, encircled by two concentric raised rings. An elegant dhow under sail is depicted in low relief in the lower field, its curved hull and billowing sails rendered in a stylised manner characteristic of East African coinage of the period. The numeral 1 appears directly above the central hole. The legend EAST AFRICA arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 1942 is inscribed in four digits along the lower rim. A continuous beaded border frames the entire reverse.
