Obverse description The octagonal field is filled entirely with raised lettering in the form of an advertising text promoting a 1-cent credit offer from First Trust & Savings Co. of Cleveland, Ohio, valid before July 1st, 1918. A large central '1¢' denomination appears in bold relief, and the lower portion bears a cursive facsimile signature of R.S. Crawford, Treasurer. The entire piece is bordered by a beaded rim.

Reverse description The central field features a relief depiction of a neoclassical bank building with prominent columns to the left, and an open savings passbook inscribed 'BANK BOOK OF B. Thrifty' to the right. The upper legend arcs around the top of the octagonal field, and additional lettering appears below the central design and along the bottom edge. The piece is bordered by a beaded rim.
