| Reverse description | A stylised trident, the national symbol of Barbados, is prominently displayed in the centre of the field, its decorative shaft rendered with foliate detail and a crowned crossbar. The denomination legend ONE CENT curves along the lower portion of the field in large incuse letters, flanked on either side by the initial letters. The engraver's initials PN appear in small characters just below the base of the trident. A beaded border runs along the inner rim, consistent with the obverse design. |

Barbados made the switch to copper-plated steel for its cent coinage in 2007, driven by the same raw material economics that pushed dozens of issuing authorities away from solid bronze during the mid-2000s commodities surge. The magnetic composition distinguishes this type from the earlier KM#10 and KM#10a pieces and allows straightforward separation with a simple magnet — a detail that matters when culling mixed date runs from dealer stock.
