The bilingual circular legend HONG KONG in Latin script flanks the upper portion of the outer ring, separated by a horizontal bar, with the corresponding Chinese characters 香港 (Hong Kong) positioned to either side. The denomination ONE CENT appears in the lower arc of the outer legend, with the date at the lower right. On issues struck at the Heaton Mint, a mintmark H appears above the horizontal dividing line between HONG and KONG. |
