Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, the bust truncated at the shoulder, encircled by a beaded inner ring. The surrounding legend reads GEORGE V KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA, disposed around the periphery between the beaded border and inner circle. The portrait displays the characteristic robed and crowned bust as used on Hong Kong coinage of this George V series. The overall execution is crude and irregular, consistent with contemporary counterfeit manufacture.

Reverse description Central design featuring the Hong Kong colonial arms — a lion and dragon flanking a shield — enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The Chinese characters 香 (left), 港 (right), and 一仙 (centre, denoting one cent) appear within and around the central device. The outer legend reads .HONG-KONG. above and ONE CENT with the date 1923 below, all separated by the beaded border. The engraving is noticeably irregular and weakly struck, with uneven relief typical of a cast or crudely hand-engraved counterfeit die.
