Obverse description Central motif depicts the Little Mermaid of Copenhagen seated on a rock, with a sailing ship in the background, the date 2002 divided across the field to either side of the figure. The design is encircled by a border of twelve five-pointed stars, with the legend DANMARK and the inscription PRØVE MUSTER appearing within the border, denoting this piece as a trial or pattern issue.
