| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Suriname occupies the central field, supported on either side by two indigenous Amerindian figures. The shield depicts a sailing ship in the upper half and a diamond shape in the lower half. The entire composition is encircled by a decorative wreath of red palulu flowers (Heliconia bihai). The circular legend SURINAME appears along the lower periphery, with the motto JUSTITIA PIETAS FIDES arching across the upper border. |
