Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Liberty in high relief, wearing a starred liberty cap adorned with a prominent five-pointed star and a spherical finial at its apex, with flowing curly hair cascading to the neck truncation. The engraver's initials 'W.J.T.' appear at the base of the neck truncation. The circular legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper periphery within a raised rim, while three five-pointed stars are evenly spaced along the lower border of the inner circle.
