Reverse description The lesser version of the Ghanaian Coat of Arms occupies the centre of the field, depicted as a quartered shield bearing a crossed sword and staff in the upper left, a castle in the upper right, a cocoa tree in the lower left, and a gold mine head-gear with a key in the lower right. The date '19 79' is divided and flanked on either side of the shield. The denomination legend 'ONE' appears above the shield and 'CEDI' below, with small decorative leaf or plant sprigs positioned at intervals around the periphery.
