| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash coin featuring a central square perforation framed by a raised inner rim and an outer rim of uniform width. Four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) are arranged in cruciform fashion around the central hole, reading clockwise from the top: 壯國元寶 (Zhuangguo Yuanbao). The characters are bold and well-defined in relief against a flat field. The coin displays an overall patina of dark brown with areas of green verdigris consistent with age and burial. |
