| Obverse description | Central square hole surrounded by a plain raised inner rim and a broad flat field bearing four Chinese characters in clerical script (lishu), arranged in cruciform reading order — top, bottom, right, left — reading 治平元寶 (Zhiping Yuanbao). The characters are boldly rendered with the characteristic horizontal emphasis and squared strokes of the lishu style. A raised outer rim borders the coin. The reverse is plain and uniface, showing only the square central perforation flanked by a lightly textured field and concentric raised rims. |
