| Reverse description | Plain round field surrounding the central square perforation, framed by an inner raised square rim and an outer circular rim. Two Manchu script characters are disposed to the left and right of the central square hole, reading 'Boo-nan' (ᠪᠣᠣ ᠨᠠᠨ), identifying the issuing mint as the Yunnan provincial mint. The characters are cast in moderate relief against a flat field. The surface displays patination and encrustation consistent with extended circulation. |
