The characters are boldly cast in raised relief against a flat field, enclosed within a broad outer rim. The right side bears the Manchu syllable 'Boo' (ᠪᠣᠣ) and the left side 'Ciowan' (ᡳᠣᠸᠠᠨ), together forming 'Boo-ciowan,' the Manchu rendering of the mint name for the Board of Revenue Mint in Beijing. The characters are cast in crisp raised relief, set within a plain flat field bounded by a broad outer rim. The upper and lower fields between the inscription and rim are plain and unadorned. |
