| Reverse description | Central square hole (穿) flanked by two Manchu script characters cast in raised relief against a flat field, reading vertically and divided by the central aperture. The Manchu syllable 'Boo' (ᠪᠣᠣ) appears to the left and 'An' (ᠠᠨ) to the right, together forming the mint name 'Boo-an', designating the An mint under the Board of Revenue. The rendering is typical of Qing dynasty cast brass cash, with a plain raised rim. Light verdigris patination is visible across the surface. |
