Aanvullende informatie

Li Zicheng's Shun regime lasted barely two years before Qing forces and the defecting Ming general Wu Sangui destroyed it entirely. Li captured Beijing in April 1644, prompting the last Ming emperor Chongzhen to hang himself on Coal Hill, but the Shun occupation of the capital lasted only forty days before collapse. Yongchang coinage was struck across multiple controlled territories — Xi'an remained the primary mint — and the surviving corpus is narrow precisely because the regime never stabilized long enough to sustain systematic production.

Hartill 21.1 is the foundational variety, cast in Beijing or Xi'an during the peak occupation period.
