Obverse description Cast iron cash coin bearing four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in clockwise reading order around a central square perforation: 應 (Ying, top), 通 (Tong, right), 寶 (Bao, bottom), and 感 (Gan, left), forming the reign era legend Yinggan Tongbao. The characters are rendered in raised relief within the annular field, framed by a plain inner rim surrounding the square hole and an outer rim at the coin's periphery. The coin exhibits heavy iron corrosion and surface encrustation consistent with its age and ferrous composition.
