Obverse description Round cast bronze coin with a central square hole, surrounded by a plain raised inner rim. Four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform reading order around the central perforation, forming the legend 續興元寶 (Xuxing Yuanbao), each character occupying one of the four cardinal positions. The characters are rendered in regular script (kaishu) with bold, well-defined strokes against a flat field. An outer raised rim encircles the entire obverse, defining the coin's edge boundary. The overall style is consistent with Song-influenced Chinese cash coinage of the twelfth century.
