Obverse description Cast bronze cash coin featuring four Chinese ideograms in elegant Seal script (篆书), arranged in clockwise reading order around a central square hole. The four-character reign title legend 熙寧元寶 (Xi Ning Yuan Bao) is disposed in the customary top-bottom-right-left sequence, with each character occupying one quadrant of the coin's field. The strokes are bold and slightly irregular, consistent with Song dynasty casting practice, and display characteristic verdigris patination across the relief surfaces.
