Four Chinese characters in Regular script (Kaishu) are arranged in the four cardinal quadrants around the central hole, reading clockwise from top: 祥 (Xiang), 符 (Fu), 元 (Yuan), 寶 (Bao), forming the inscription Xiangfu Yuanbao.
