| Reverse description | The reverse is cast with a raised central square perforation surrounded by a plain, slightly concave field. Two Manchu script characters, reading 'Boo-i' (ᠪᠣᠣ ᡳ), are positioned to the left and right of the central square hole, identifying the Ili Mint (Boo-i being the Manchu rendering of the mint designation). A small raised dot, the distinguishing variety feature, appears in the field — typically above or below the square hole. The outer rim is raised and uniform, and the surface displays the same dark patination with blue-green cuprite as the obverse. |
