| Descrizione del dritto | Cast round coin with a central square perforation, featuring four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform reading order: top to bottom and right to left around the central hole. The inscription 咸豐通寶 (Xianfeng Tongbao) occupies the four cardinal positions of the field, with 咸 at the top, 寶 at the bottom, 通 to the right, and 豐 to the left. The characters are rendered in a bold, slightly raised relief typical of mid-Qing dynasty cash coinage. A plain inner rim borders the square perforation, and a raised outer rim encircles the coin. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Cast reverse featuring two Manchu script characters in raised relief, symmetrically flanking the central square perforation on the left and right sides respectively. The Manchu word ᠪᠣᠣ (Boo) appears to the left of the hole and ᡤᡠᠸᠠᠩ (guwang) to the right, together identifying the Guangdong (Kwangtung) mint. The characters are rendered in the cursive Manchu style typical of Qing dynasty cash coinage reverses. A raised inner rim frames the square perforation, and a plain outer rim borders the coin. |
