The reign title legend 咸豐通寶 (Xianfeng Tongbao) occupies the four quadrants of the inner field, with each character boldly cast in high relief against a flat ground. A raised inner rim frames the central inscription, and a wider flat outer rim borders the periphery of the coin. The overall design faithfully replicates the standard format of Qing dynasty cash coinage of the Xianfeng period (1851–1861). |
