| Reverse description | The reverse presents a plain, largely unadorned field surrounding the central square hole, with a raised inner rim bordering the perforation. A two-character Manchu (Dai) script inscription appears to the right of the square hole, reading vertically, identifying the mint as Boo-chiowan (Board of Revenue mint, Beijing). The surface shows the characteristic rough texture of cast iron production, with a flat outer rim. The minimalist reverse design is consistent with the lower-denomination iron cash coinage issued during the Xianfeng reign emergency currency period. |
