Obverse description Round cast brass coin with a central square perforation, surrounded by four Chinese characters in kaishu (regular script) arranged in the traditional cross-reading order: 咸 (Xian) at top, 豐 (Feng) at bottom, 通 (Tong) at right, and 寶 (Bao) at left, reading 咸豐通寶 (Xianfeng Tongbao). The characters are rendered in bold, well-defined relief against a flat, unadorned field. A raised inner rim borders the square central hole, and a plain outer rim frames the coin. The overall style is consistent with mid-Qing dynasty cast coinage, exhibiting characteristic stroke variations across branch mints.
