Reverse description Plain flat field with a central square perforation bordered by a raised inner rim, flanked on the left and right by two Manchu script characters. To the left of the central hole appears the Manchu legend 'Boo' (ᠪᠣᠣ) and to the right 'Chiowan' (ᡳᠣᠸᠠᠨ), together reading 'Boo-chiowan', identifying the Board of Revenue Mint in Beijing. The upper and lower fields of the reverse are blank. The Manchu characters are cast in moderate relief, with stylistic details varying subtly between branch mint issues. A plain outer rim encircles the design.
