| Obverse description | Cast brass cash coin with a central square perforation. Four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform fashion around the central hole, reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left: 萬曆通寶 (Wàn Lì Tōng Bǎo), rendered in regular script (kaishu). The characters are boldly raised within a plain, unadorned field, framed by a smooth inner rim surrounding the square hole and a raised outer rim defining the coin's periphery. |

| Reverse description | Plain cast field with a smooth, slightly convex surface, featuring a small raised circle positioned above the central square perforation. The reverse is otherwise unadorned, bounded by a raised inner rim around the square hole and a raised outer rim at the coin's periphery, consistent with Ming dynasty cash coinage practice. |
