| Additional information |
Vĩnh Thịnh was the reign title of Lê Dụ Tông, who nominally held the imperial throne while real power remained entirely with the Trịnh lords in the north. This coin dates to the early Trịnh-dominated phase of the Later Lê dynasty, when the court at Thăng Long functioned largely as a ceremonial apparatus. The Kỷ reverse mark — one of several cyclical characters used to differentiate emission batches — suggests this piece belongs to a tightly sequenced minting program the Trịnh administration used to manage copper cash supply across their controlled territories.
