| Obverse description | Central square hole surrounded by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in cruciform reading order: 永 (Vĩnh) at top, 寧 (Ninh) at right, 通 (Thông) at bottom, and 寶 (Bảo) at left, together forming the legend 永寧通寶 (Vĩnh Ninh Thông Bảo). The characters are rendered in bold, well-defined strokes within an unadorned flat field. The entire design is enclosed by a broad, raised outer rim. No inner rim is present around the central perforation. |
