| Obverse description | Cast brass cash coin of round form with a central square hole, bearing the four-character reign legend 治元通寶 (Trị Nguyên Thông Bảo) arranged in cruciform reading order around the perforation. The characters are rendered in regular script (kaishu) in moderate relief against a flat field, with 治 at top, 通 at right, 元 at bottom, and 寶 at left. A plain raised rim borders the coin, and the surface shows the characteristic texture of a sand-cast issue. The legends are bold and well-defined, consistent with the abbreviated production circumstances of the Lê Văn Khôi rebellion coinage. |

| Reverse description | Plain reverse with a central square perforation aligned with the obverse, surrounded by a flat, featureless field devoid of any legend, symbol, or ornament. A raised rim of uniform width frames the coin on the outer edge. The surface bears the mottled, granular texture typical of cast Vietnamese cash coinage, with natural patination consistent with a brass alloy. No mint marks or additional devices are present. |
