Obverse description Central square hole surrounded by four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform reading order within a plain inner rim and a raised outer rim. The four-character legend 治平元寶 (Trị Bình Nguyên Bảo) is read clockwise in regular script (kaishu), with one character positioned in each cardinal quadrant relative to the central perforation. The calligraphy is cleanly rendered in the classic Vietnamese cash-coin tradition, consistent with Lý dynasty casting style.
Obverse script Chinese (traditional, regular script)
Obverse lettering 治 寶 平 元
(Translation: Trị Bình Nguyên Bảo Trị Bình (4th era of Lý Cao Tông, 1205-1210) / Original currency)
