| Obverse description | Cast copper cash coin with a central square hole framed by a raised inner rim. Four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) are arranged in cruciform fashion around the central aperture, reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left: 順 (top), 元 (right), 寶 (bottom), 天 (left), forming the legend Thuận Thiên Nguyên Bảo. The characters are rendered in bold relief within a plain field bounded by a raised outer rim. The coin displays characteristic green and brown patination consistent with age and burial. |
