| Obverse description | Cast zinc cash coin with a central square hole, bearing four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform fashion around the perforation, read top-to-bottom then right-to-left. The legend 紹治通寶 (Thiệu Trị Thông Bảo) identifies the reign of Emperor Thiệu Trị and denotes universal currency. The characters are rendered in raised relief within a plain, undecorated field, with a raised inner rim surrounding the square hole and a raised outer rim encircling the coin's periphery. The casting surface displays the characteristic texture and patination typical of Vietnamese zinc cash coinage of the mid-nineteenth century. |

| Reverse description | Plain and uniface, with no design, legend, or decorative elements. The reverse presents a flat, unadorned field displaying only a central square hole surrounded by a raised inner rim and a raised outer rim at the coin's periphery, consistent with standard Vietnamese cast cash coinage of the Nguyễn dynasty. The surface shows typical zinc oxidation and casting marks. |
