Obverse description Round cast copper cash coin featuring a central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform fashion within the field. The inscription 紹豐元寶 (Thiệu Phong Nguyên Bảo) is rendered in seal script, reading top-bottom-right-left in the traditional arrangement. The characters are boldly raised in relief against a flat field, enclosed by a plain inner rim and an outer raised border ring. The overall style is consistent with Vietnamese Trần dynasty cast coinage of the mid-fourteenth century.
