Obverse description Central square perforation surrounded by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in cruciform fashion and read top to bottom, right to left. The legend 紹慶通寶 occupies the four quadrants of the coin face, with each character set between the square hole and the plain raised rim. The characters are boldly cast in relief against a flat field, displaying the characteristic style of Vietnamese Trần dynasty cash coinage. A plain inner rim borders the central square perforation, and a plain raised outer rim encircles the entire obverse.
