| Obverse description | Four Chinese characters in seal script (zhuanshu) arranged in cruciform reading order — top, bottom, right, left — surrounding a central square hole: 唐 (top), 國 (bottom), 通 (right), 寶 (left), forming the legend 唐國通寶 (Tang Guo Tong Bao). The characters are boldly cast with the characteristic rounded, archaic strokes of seal script, set within a raised square rim surrounding the central perforation and an outer raised circular border. The flat field shows natural patination consistent with cast bronze coinage of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. |

| Reverse description | Plain flat field with a central square hole framed by a raised square inner rim and a raised outer circular border. A single raised dot mark appears above the square hole at the twelve o'clock position, serving as a mint or batch control mark. The reverse is otherwise unadorned, with a smooth, evenly cast surface exhibiting dark olive-brown patination with traces of green cuprite. |
