| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash coin featuring the four-character inscription 太平通寶 (Taiping Tongbao) rendered in clerical script (隸書), arranged in the traditional cross-reading order: top, bottom, right, left around a central square perforation. The characters are boldly cast in relief within a broad inner rim surrounding the square hole, with a plain outer rim encircling the field. The coin exhibits a characteristic Song dynasty casting style with flat, relatively unadorned fields. Surface shows natural patination consistent with age. |
