| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a central square perforation flanked by two mint identification characters in raised relief. To the left of the hole appears the Manchu script character for 'He' (ᡥᠣ), read vertically in the traditional Manchu manner, while to the right stands the corresponding Chinese ideogram 河 (He), identifying the Honan (Henan) Mint at Kaifeng. Both inscriptions are rendered in the same bold, raised-relief casting style as the obverse, set within a flat recessed field enclosed by a plain raised rim. The bilingual mint mark arrangement is characteristic of the later Shunzhi-era coinage reform of 1660, which introduced paired Manchu and Chinese mint designations. |
